House Notes
As part of my role as Creative & Content Director of Soho House, from March 2017–Jan 2020 I was the editor-in-chief of the global monthly members’ magazine, House Notes. Each issue covered a wide range of issues around a central theme: Senses, Style, Taste, Thought, Design, Create, Inspire… and also included the monthly member event listings for each House. During my time as editor, we ran two special features, which were much broader 360 activations with standalone websites. The first was the 27 Under 27 awards, which shone a spotlight on exceptional talent within the Soho House Under 27 membership. The second was the Pioneers issue, highlighting 13 global members changing the conversation in their respective fields. The Pioneers issue also marked the launch of a new look and feel for the magazine.
From its very inception, Soho House has supported, championed and provided a hub for people excelling in their respective fields. Pioneers are the lifeblood of its community, so in 2019 we created a special issue of House Notes and an accompanying microsite to highlight 13 exceptional talents from around the world in collaboration with RIMOWA – which recognises that no one builds a legacy by standing still. We received thousands of applications and nominations across a range of fields, and the result was a snapshot of the game-changing individuals who make up Soho House.
